Louis Brems started his career in 1998 photographing sports, seniors, underclassman, and dances, for studios in Illinois and Milwaukee, WI. In the fall of 2003, Louis decided to further his education in the field of photography he loves. He graduated in December 2004 with his degree in Visual Journalism from Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura, CA. Louis worked for various newspapers across the country, including, The Huntington Herald-Dispatch, Huntington, WV., The Facts Clute, TX., the Sterling Gazette, Sterling, IL., The Quad-City Times, Davenport, IA., The Villages Daily Sun, The Villages, FL., Louis has received many honors for is work. He was named Associated Press Photographer of the Month an Editor and Publisher Photographer of the Month for January 2007, West Virginia Press Association 1st place in the News category,  and West Virginia Photographer of the Year in the News category for 2007, 1st place 2015 Iowa APME Sports Category, 2nd place Iowa AMPE Feature category, 3rd place in the Iowa APME News category, and 2nd place in the 2015 Iowa APME Feature category. Clients include: USA Today, Sports Illustrated, The Charlotte Observer, The LA Times, The Detroit Free Press, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, Fox News, the Seattle Post Intelligencer and many others. Louis spent a few years freelancing specializing in Concerts, Sports, and Nature photography Louis was co-owner of River Cities Photography focusing on Journalistic style weddings. He is currently a Senior Staff Photographer at the Villages Daily Sun. Louis resides in the Villages, FL, with his wife Beth, their Calico cat Kitty and Boxer Odessa.
